Fun fact: the BLT sandwich became popular in the United States in the early 1900s, and it is said to have been created by the English culinary writer, Mrs. Beeton. However, the sandwich did not become widely known as a “BLT” until the 1950s, when it was featured in an advertising campaign by the popular bread company, Wonder Bread. The campaign helped to popularize the sandwich and turned it into a classic American favorite.
